1926 – 2016
The family announces with heavy hearts her passing on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Loving wife of the Late Elgin Eddy (1958) and of Eugene of 56 years. Cherished Mother of: Allen (Louise) Eddy of Cochrane, Blaine (Susan) Eddy of Porquis, Gary (Suzanne) Belanger of Iroquois Falls, and Bonnie (Sandy Boyd) Belanger of Stratford. She will be forever in the hearts of her Grandchildren; Jake Eddy of Toronto, Lia Eddy of Sudbury, Tasha Eddy of Iroquois Falls, and Travis Eddy of Dunsford, ON, Sylvain Roy of Palmoral, PQ, Nicole roy of Palmoral, PQ and her Great Grandsons Chase Rondeau and Severn Eddy. Gladys is also survived by her sister Carmel Campbell of Hamilton, and her sister-in-law Jean Whelton of Black Rock, NB as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her Parents, James and Julia Whelton, her Husband Elgin Eddy, her sisters; Kathleen Good, Lauretta Branch, Marjorie Boyle, Eileen Riordon, Iris Curwin, Rita Ethier, Anita Forest, Hazel Salter and Eleanor Branch, her brother Basil and her brothers-in-law; Frank Good, Richard Branch, William Boyle, Raymond Riordon, Jack Curwin, Jim Campbell, Sylvio Ethier, Bill Forest, Cletus Salter, Tracy Branch, Steve O’Hearin, and John Feller.
Family and Friends may call at Abitibi Funeral Services Ltd. on Saturday, June 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Parish with the Reverend Father Léo Rancourt presiding. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Timmins (cheques only please) and would be appreciated by the family.
